'Beth Read Originals' 80's/90's Medieval Whimsy Gown Set. Size 14/16

Live out all your whimsy fantasies in this incredibly rare Beth Read Originals two-piece (dress and over garment) set.  From the luscious velvet sleeves to the beautifully beaded lace trim - these garments are truly gorgeous. This set was made and designed in New Zealand in the late 80's / early 90's which makes it a part of local fashion history from that era.

The soft stoney blues and lilac palette emulate a familiar fairytale aesthetic that was particularly popular in fashion and film during the 80's/90's period. Whether you're looking for a moment of nostalgia for this more recent fashion moment or after the transportation to another wonderland - this could be the set for you!

The main dress features a drawstring neckline. There is also the opportunity for an adjustable fit around the waist/mid-section of the dress due to the corset detail on its back. An added hook and eye feature also allows the sleeves to be held up rather than worn long.

Zips down the sides allow for easy access on the over dress 

There is lots of scope with the sizing as the design has allowed for a generous fit plus some stretch in the velvet 

Due to the fabric we feel this sits more on the 90’s era 

Measurements: 

Under Dress (Long Sleeved): Sleeve length - 67cm (Shortest hem), 120cm (Longest hem). Chest - 94cm. Length - 137cm. Waist - 107cm (With corset let out) 

Over-Piece* (Corset vest dress): Length - 147cm, Chest - 86cm, Waist - 86cm

*Measurements were made with corset at tightest alteration. There is plenty of options for a larger styling fit with this piece. 

Material: Rayon Viscose / Polyester and Spandex Blend

Condition: Good shows some wear, Flaws include: some missing/ loose beads on lace trim, small marks all very minor
